Lottery Winnings
 

If you win the lottery, and let's say you won 50 million dollars. What is the 1 thing you would do for your org? The one thing you would do for your chapter?

oh goodness! how did I miss this one?

The first thing I would for the Sorority do is hire & pay for people to get our Archives together on a full time basis and donate 4 million for general purposes.

I'd build Delta Nu a house so properties can be in one place & donate 2 million for their scholoaship program. I'd also donate 2 million to each of the chapters in the Atlanta metro(alumnae & collegiate). I know that's like 5 things, but 50 million is a lot of money. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

The first thing I'd do is to purchase a chapter house, hire staff to help keep our programs running year-round, especially the litaracy programs.
Then I'd endow a scholarship fund - it would have many categories - up to and including Graduate School. Lots of book grants also.
I'd establish a shelter for women and teens.
I'd purchase land and establish a Delta community garden project. I'd endow a local African-American History reclamation project - to get as much oral history recorded as is possible.
(smile - I'd be broke before I run out of ideas!!)

I would spend the money on these things:
1. A house (fully loaded)
2. Four computers
3. A car (which will be used for the president to do her local travels)
4. Investments
5. Make a huge donation to our local Dream Catchers and our national Presidential Academy.
6. For the org. I would help contribute to a huge paid staff.

Of course some of these things will have to be channeled another way other than through my chapter.

Sorry I totally missed this thread thinking that it was just who has ever won the lottery and since I don't play I skipped.

FOR DST:
1. Invest 50% of my winnings into a high yield investment fund in Delta's name to increase their financial base to be used as they see fit.

For OMICRON THETA:
1. Build a sorority house that would be a mansion http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif -- hey a sista can dream
2. Donate $1,000,000 to our Crystal T. Scott scholarship fund.
3. Invest $1 million to enable sorors of the chapter to be able to pay for ALL conferences and conventions registrations as well as travel expenses and lodging.
4. Invest for them $1 million to have a sound financial base.
5. Buy them a chapter van to go road tripping with http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif.


FOR ME MYSELF and I as a DELTA:
1. Pay for life membership for myself, my sands, and my CLOSE friends in DELTA.
