Phi Xi Zeta needs help on a downward spiral
It seems as if our chapter has been declining tremendously in morale and involvement. Do any of you know of any ways to help this? A lot of our guys have lost interest in almost everything, and do not take anything seriously any more... If anyone can help from experience or suggest something it would be appreciated. Maybe some ideas for brotherhoods or something just to refoster the spirit and the fire inside for everyone.

Brother 380,
Can you give us any more details? When did the trouble start? Was there something that precipitated it; i.e. an issue that divided the chapter, etc., or are guys just falling away for no apparent reason? Are you an officer in your chapter? If so, the office you hold could be your opportunity to help strentghen your chapter. Mark Brenneman Phi-Tau Zeta #246 |
It pretty much started the beginning of the semester. I knew it was trouble in the beginning. Everyone came back from the summer and partied a lot, especially those living in the house. We have gotten past the drinking and such, but now everything seems more like cliques than one brotherhood. Brothers just became less reliable and the officers were too relaxed and do not fulfill their obligations. Our biggest problem is accountability and communication. I became tau mid semester, and I actually do everything that is asked of me, office wise and so much more, but it is like I'm the bad guy. A few others, and myself, try to regain control with standards and the bylaws, but there isn't any chapter support. There are so many problems. There are more problems with the business aspect. But there are problems with the morale....everyone is at each other's throats. It is like everyone is so edgy. We have one meeting left this semester, then we go to break. Over Christmas break we're having an executive committee retreat to gain control over the business aspect. Also, we just elected a new beta, who has a lot of heart and passion that can possibly bring back the involvement and morale that was lost this semester.
