Feast of Roses

Tonight is FoR for Tau chapter. Have you had yours yet? :) More details later tonight.

Feast of Roses for Delta Sigma/Hawaii Alumnae usually takes place immediately after Initiation and Senior Rededication in the Fall. This year it took place on November 20th at Duke's Restaurant on the legendary Waikiki Beach.

Sorry for the large pic. It's an old one from MY last FoR as a collegian, but the fun photos never change over the years...they always stay the same!

I went to Zeta Alpha's Initiation tonight. They did a beautiful job. They are having Feast of Roses tomorrow. I am skipping that because I'm going back Sunday for an advisor training session.

The exciting thing was that they initiated a legacy tonight (a rare thing at Eastern Michigan) and her mom was at Initiation. The mom had been initiated 3 years before me and was graduated by the time I pledged, but she knew most of the women who were in the chapter at the time that I pledged, so we had fun chit chatting! She had not stayed involved in AGD and her daughter didn't even know that she was a legacy until after she told her mom who she'd put first on her bid card! Isn't that funny? Her daughter decided it must have been fate!

Update.......Tau initiated nine lovely young ladies today. FoR followed at the Faculty Club, a beautiful Georgian style building on campus. The food was great, and the pledge president gave a very good speech. She's an exchange student from the UK, and will only be with us for one year. She really wanted to experience North American culture to the fullest, which was why she became an AGD! :)

Cynthia, Gamma Tau had an exchange student from Germany a few years ago! She's now an airline hostess for Luftsana.

At least one of the girls we initiated is a legacy and her grandmother came all the way up from Florida to surprise her! :)

ETA: I just realized that I was initiated a year ago today!

Theta Pi initated a legacy this year. Her stepmother was able to attend initation too. I was at bid day when Alex got her card and the first thing she said after all the hugs was "I've got to call Kathy [stepmom]!"
