Which ones do you think would still do well at the box office?

Which ones do you think would be busts in 2004?

I think the problem is too many good movies from back in theday are trying to be copied now in a more generic, forulaic way that many bad critiques are made simply because most of today's fiolm concepts have been WAY overdone (coming-of-age teen movie, scary movie where each person (starting with the colored stars) get picked off one by one, love stories about serendipitous (sp?) occurences.)

Dirty Dancing, one of my most favorite movies of all time, would not make it. No one really knew how cheesy it was, and it's so CHEESY, so it'd be a bust. A Gigli or a Glitter, if you will.

I think the classics like E.T., Indiana Jones, and Star Wars would still be hits. Same goes for dramas like Beaches and Ghost, I think.

Some of the movies from the 1960's would never make it. They're so self-conciously hip that it's painful.

Anything by the great 1970's directors - Scorcese, Coppola et al - would still hold up.

If they made Breakfast at Tiffany's today, it would be truer to the book. In the book, Holly is bisexual.

Ian Fleming's James Bond would sputter, cough and die at the box office after maybe a couple of films. Not like today, where 20 films and 007 is still going strong.

I don't think any of the 80s party movies like Porky's, Revenge of the Nerds, etc. would get made today, in this climate.

It would have been cool to see Audrey Hepburn naked in a bisexual sex scene . . . . sigh

Missed opportunities. :(

I don't know though...with movies like "Old School" and "Road Trip," I tend to think something like "Revenge of the Nerds" would do pretty well. I think "Porky's" would still be made, but it would be on video rather quickly.

I'd say that the "Godfather" trilogy would do well, but to be honest it probably set the stage for movies like "Untouchables" and "Goodfella's," so it's tough to say. The talent of the cast and the strength of the story would probably be enough to sustain it though.
