Japanese women seek British guys

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4010563.stm

The women feel that the men in their country don't understand the fact that they have careers, and feel that since British guys are probably more used to it, then they're better off there. But why just British guys? Are they looking for their "Darcys"?

Japanese women should work on fixing their teeth before they set out to find husbands.

Yes, I know I'm sounding like a bitch, but I see Japanese nationals every single effing day and 85% of them have the worst set of grills EVAR.

If they can spend beaucoup $$$ on designer clothes and expensive makeup and hair bleaching, they should be able to fix their teeth.

Maybe that's why they want to date British guys...they can have equally as bad teeth together?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

Keep in mind that braces were designed to correct problems where crooked teeth or a bad bite was causing a medical problem . . . they weren't originally cosmetic.

They have become cosmetic and common in our country through skillful advertising.

Also, I believe that britain has socialized medicine so it may not be covered accept under real medical conditions . . .

I know that here a lot of insurances will cover braces or nose jobs if the doctor writes up his report correctly . . . That may not be the same over there.

Question: Does the UK medical system cover dental? It isn't here....most people get their dental through their work.

Lady Pi Phi 11-22-2004 06:19 PM

The NHS does cover dental in the UK.

But as a side not...not every country will socialized medicine covers dental because Canada does not. Also, just because a country has socialized medicine does not mean it covers everything. There are quite a few services Canadians have to pay for.

here is a link to soem basic information on NHS dental:

http://www.property.telegraph.co.uk/.../05/hnhs05.xml

From there and other web sites my impression would be that braces are only covered in extreme cases and would need to be "aproved" otherwise its an out of pocket expense and might be even more money than here in the states.

So be nice to the British :p

Mwahahaha. What I don't get is my mom. My beautiful Filipina "Betty" mom. Her teeth are as straight as a ruler, but for some reason she never shows teeth whenever she takes pictures. Is it some societal thing to close your mouths shut when taking photos?

Also, maybe this is moreso with the Japanese tourists I see every gat-damn day. Is it a friggin rule to make the damn "peace" sign everytime the camera flashes?

I'm down for co-sponsoring that event.
