it's good to see that we have a new secretary of state that is so knowledgable on Russia and Communism since we are in a Cold War with them... :rolleyes:

What exactly is your point here?

You'd think with Bush's Holy War against the Islamic World that we would have more higher-ups that know what they are fighting against.

Bush isn't fighting a "Holy War against the Islamic World," he's protecting our country from terrorists who are fighting a "Holy War" against us. Read the Koran-- it's all in there.

As for Condoleezza Rice, she is more than qualified to be Secretary of State! She's a freakin' genius! I'm very glad she has been nominated! Check out her bio for some more accomplishments:

Not my thought, but pretty funny. I think Rice is the obvious choice for State.

Maybe . . . I dunno. This tendency to use academics in real world positions is a little disturbing.

A little like putting bright people that have studdied the theory of tennis for years into a position playing it.

Although, I am not sure what would qualify you for the job other than having done it before.

She just spent 4 years as the National Security Advisor. I'd have to say that she is probably one of the most knowledgable people in the world about the current threats that face the US. I challange to to name just one person who knows more than she, and back up that assertation.

Paul Wolfowitz. I don't agree with everything he stands for, but he is a better candidate for that office. He has a lot more experience in both the academic and the diplomatic field.

I'll give you that he's more knowledgable, but he's not a viable candidate. The Democrats would filibuster his nomination.
