Oddly enough, check out www.salary.com. You can put in your job title and location and the site will give you a high and low range.

salary.com is a good one. You may also want to check any Marketing trade associations to see if they have any salary data. For instance, I am in Training & Development and the American Society for Training & Development does annual salary surveys that are a great reference point.
I just got a new job too, and my research and salary negotiations helped me raise the salary offer (which was already an increase over what I was making) several thousand dollars. Do the research and come strong...it will be worth it!! Congratulations!! |
Congradulations Pebbles!!!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif It's great to see African-American women (I'm ASSUMING that you're African-American) make significant advances in the workforce.
My husband and I found a website that addresses EXACTLY what you're looking for. Try typing in Keyword: SALARY & BENEFITS. It will take you to an AOL website for Careers and Work. Good luck on your new endeavor and I hope that this helps. |

A great site to research salary ranges for Marketing positions is www.wetfeet.com. |
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT!
I'm so excited about this job! And those sites definitely helped me. Of course, now I'll have to ween myself from GC, but I'll be traveling more, so I'll be keeping in touch with Sorors and Sisterfriends as to my next location! Take care and thanks again!!! Pebbles #6 |

Salary Ranges (Need Help!)
I need your help!
I have just been offered a wonderful, new position to work for a large Japanese owned company here in Chicago and it is quite a career jump for me. The position is in Marketing and they made an offer yesterday. My dilemma is, since it is a jump to a new position with more responsibilites, accountabilities and duties, I need to know how to research the going salaries for such a position. The offer is already a significant amount more than where I'm at now, however I still would like to research to see if it's comparable to what others are already making in that same field. If anyone knows of any websites or resources that I can reference regarding salary ranges, it would be greatly appreciated! I need to get back to them with a response by Monday, June 4th. Thanks!
