Badge Guard Question
 

Am I crazy? I was pretty certain that one of the options for a guard (rather than the chapter letters) was the crest. However, when I looked on the badge price list on PO, there's no mention of a crest guard. Did I just make this up, or has someone else seen this?

I'm not certain, but while you're a Delta, you wear ONLY a chapter guard. TCS's wear a special guard, as does Executive Council.

When I called EO and mentioned an idea that I had for a new guard, I was encouraged to do so. I think that age brings privilege! ;) In that case, you could certainly use a crest!

BTW, when I graduated, we were told to take OFF our guards, as we were now members of the entire system, not just that chapter. I think that thinking has gone by the wayside - I hope it has!

I think it has, when I go to founders day pretty much every alum wears their pin and if they have a guard, they still have it on. Now they might have taken off their dangles but they still have their guard. Just because we are all part of the "whole" we should still be proud of our chapter.

I remember being able to order a crest guard as well. i think you can still get them from Alpha Gold. Just an fyi. :) And, I have never heard about Deltas only being told to wear Chapter guards. Since you are an initiated member, you should be able to enjoy the crest as well. :)

Thanks Sherra! I checked their website and didn't see it there, but I requested a printed catalog, so maybe I'll have luck there! I'm just thinking that I might add a guard to the badge I saved off of Ebay, and make that my "advisor" badge with any dangles that I get as an advisor on there, rather than get a chapter letter guard with either the chapter I advise letters, or another guard with my chapter letters.

As an update...I got the Alpha Gold catalog in the mail today, and they showed crest guards, so when I get some money ahead, I think I'll be ordering one :)
