Fall Initiation

Well, after some long nights, Epsilon Mu Zeta has 26 new brothers. We are now up to EM 1922, only 21 men from my first century brother. I'm already starting to look forward to next semester.

Bro, that is excellent! Congrats! What's your active membership now?

Jono

Phi-Epsilon Zeta, Cal State Fullerton

Initiating 16 tonight. Doubled the chapter size!

NB: Found out at 4:00 PM that they wanted / needed me to participate.

There's no business like show business, like no business I know . . . .

The Colony at the University of the Incarnate Word initiated 3 men last night. The UIW campus is on defered recruitment, so they were only able to initiate upperclassman that they had recruited. In January, they will have a shot at the freshman, and expect to recruit a good size group of guys.

The ceremony went well and this was the first initiation the colony put on. It went very well and was very efficient.

I am extremly proud of the work these guys are doing and they will be applying for chartering in about 2 weeks. Expect to continue to hear good things from the men at UIW.

Postscript for Phi-Epsilon Zeta Ritual

Fullerton successfully initiated 16 a few hours ago. We finished up a little before 2:00 AM. We started at approximately 9:00 PM so that really is an accomplishment. We've got the mechanics down, now we must work on style and staging. Tthis refinement can be done over time. There are enough active members now that our ritualist can get some help. He can divide up the labor so he can focus his energy where needed and not burn up that limited time doing the minutia. I think that he did an OUTSTANDING job and I am quite proud of him.

We also had some alumni in attendance. An Order of Merit winner from LA who had a nephew going through tonight; the High Pi at Central Florida who knows the Order of Merit guy and the nephew, and the past High Pi from Northridge, who also knows everybody; I may be mistaken, but I believe that the guy from Northridge is also Order of Merit.

One funny note: A few weeks ago a sorority girl gave an Associate a "Teacup Chihuahua". It is the smallest, scrawniest dog that I've ever seen. As ritual was concluding the dog appeared at the doorway. I quietly picked up said dog and took her upstairs. I set her down and turned to leave the darkened room. I closed the door - but what I didn't know is that she scampered downstairs ahead of me. She entered the ritual room and wandered about. No, she didn't embarrass herself in front of the crowd, but she did wander about. Nobody laughed, nobody flinched. The show went on. Fortunately, it was over moments later.

Now I've seen everything:rolleyes:

DOG ON THE FIELD!!!! LMAO! Hahaha.

John, it's very cool you participated in this one. We all need to do that every now and then, just to keep in shape. I had the pleasure of doing so last November down at Florida Tech for just a couple moments, but it was a thrill just the same. At that time, we did 15 and didn't finish up until 8am, so I commend your guys for their efficiency.

BTW, isn't the High Pi from Central Florida Mike S.? I believe he was an Order of Merit recipient at this past G.A. too! How do you get all these "celebrities"?

In ZAX,
Jono

DTZ Initiation

The Brothers of Delta Tau Zeta initiated 5 new brothers this semester. Now up to 42 great guys, we're hoping to get another great group of guys in the Spring.

With respect to the Order of Merit recipients at the Fullerton Ritual: Living proof that lightening strikes and that blind squirrells do find their nuts once in a while.

i am happy to say Lambda Iota Zeta has started PI Week last night. We have 14 AM's that i hope at the end of the week, I will be able to call brothers.

EM1843 11-15-2004 02:52 PM

We started our initiation Friday night at about 7 30 pm. We do a split Initiation and finished Friday night at 3 30 am. That was 26 guys, or an average of about 20 minutes per man. Thanks to everyone who made some suggestions to me about dealing with a class this large.

Tom Earp 11-15-2004 04:45 PM

Matt, please PM me on how you set it up!

God, the last time I was at LX Z for a full Initiation, I was up for 2 days!:( 14 Brothers.

LXAAlum 11-15-2004 06:29 PM

Northern Colorado just initiated 6 new brothers last Friday - I stayed for as much as I could, but left about 10:30pm...still had a few hours to go to finish.

Not as young as I'd like to be anymore.

I remember the 28 (28! Yes, 28) that Colorado State did one year....and, that initiation was spread over 2 nights, but still finished the first night's activities at 5AM.

Ahhh....the good old days....when I could stay awake that long and STILL be good to drive home.

Tom Earp 11-15-2004 06:42 PM

A LXAAlum, I to remember the Good Old Days.

Damn, hard to keep up with the youngsters!:( But, it is still great to see them when they have been fully Initiated and the silly grins!
