Yes, it is very sad to hear that we have lost more of our Greek family. May God bless them and their families.
P.S. Everyone think about yourselves, your passengers, your families...PLEASE be careful and DO NOT drive if you feel tired or sleepy...because the worst part is...you don't know you're asleep or falling asleep at the wheel. God bless. |
i totally agree and this is indeed a tragedy...my heart and prayers go out to the family members and fraternity of Alpha Phi Alpha.

Cpl. Kevin Stewart of the Arkansas State Police said an investigation indicated that Adrain Smith, a Central Arkansas student, had fallen asleep while driving the 15-passenger van. The students, all members of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, were returning from Memphis. Police said only Mr. Smith and Jeremy Owoh, a Central Arkansas student and the front-seat passenger, were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. In addition to Mr. Smith and Mr. Owoh, seven other Central Arkansas students were treated at local hospitals. Injured were Christopher Gordon, 19; Marcus Hughes, 19; Jason Mathis, 21; Deon Rhodes, 21; Demetrius Richmond, 23; Charles Robinson, 21; and Dorsey Watson, 19. I found a press release and some comments by some members of the fraternity on the incident. My deepest condolances go out to the departed and to those affected by this tragedy.

This is so unfortunate. My prayers go out to the victims and their families. Please let this be a lesson to all drivers! GET A FULL NIGHTS REST BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO DRIVE!! If you are feeling sleepy do not drink coffee and pop no doze, PULL OVER AND LET SOMEONE ELSE DRIVE OR PULL OVER AND FIND SOMEWHERE TO GO TO SLEEP

Hey this is the event that was referenced to by the Alpha in the "Wedding" contest in essence. He speaks about the accident prior to asking our soror to marry him. |
I was wondering if there was a thread about that accident. His fiancee is really good friends with one of my chapter Sorors, so I really hope they win.

Aw, this was at my school :(
I know most of the members involved. My cousin was in the accident as well. The 2 who passed were neos, and one of the injured (also a neo at the time) was paralyzed from the waist down. |
