Elizabeth Edwards diagnosed with breast cancer
Their family is in my prayers. Let's all hope she makes a speedy recovery.
Also, How old is John Edwards? Because I always thought he was young...but they said Elizabeth was 55. John sure doesn't look 55, if he is that old. |
Elizabeth is in my prayers as well...my mom was 56 when she was diagnosed, but she's a 3-year survivor!!
Best wishes to the Edwards family... |
God bless her - what a horrible thing to happen to her! I hope she has wonderful doctors and a good spirit about her right now, to help her get through this.

From John Edwards' Senate web site:
It said that his birthday is June 10, 1953. That would make him 51. |
When I saw John Edwards those last two days before the election, and even on election night, I thought to myself "Wow, he looks whipped, this schedule must be killing him". Now I'm guessing he looked so wiped out because of this news...
Do former senators get to retain medical insurance? If not, I don't think they'll have any come January... Dee |
Bless her heart.....I sure hope and pray for her to recieve a healthy positive outcome. No one s hould ever have to fall to the hands of cancer , democrat or republican.

My atty was discussing this at work this morning.
I didn't know that John & Elisabeth Edwards had children that were much older than their current children. I guess she had one child at 48 and then another around 50? My atty was wondering if maybe there's a link to breast cancer in women who have children later in life, as Elisabeth did. I have no idea whether that would even be pertinent, but it did spark some curiosity. Has anyone heard anything like that before? |
They have cate who is a princeton grad and wade who was older than her who died a few yrs ago. they went with firtility( i know it is spelled wrong...sorry) to have a few more children...jack and emma clair

I can't comment with any accuracy if fertility drugs were a factor in her breast cancer. I do know plenty of women who have had breast cancer in their early to mid forties. It seems almost like an epidemic in NYC and Long Island. Several of my relatives have died from it in their fifties. There was speculation that pesticides or power lines could be the cause, but nothing definitive was determined.
I hope that Mrs. Edwards makes a complete recovery. |

Even if former Senators don't get to keep their medical insurance, they'll be fine. It will be a blow--but not even a major one. Plus, with kids--they probably still have some coverage. |
