Sixth Law Of Power
Law Six - CREATE AN AIR OF MYSTERY
Never make it too clear what you are doing or about to do. Do not show all your cards. Mystery and uncertainty create anticipation - everyone will want to know what comes next. Use mystery to beguile, seduce, even frighten. |
i like this one. it also helps to stop ideas from being stolen if you work in a cutthroat environment.

A true story...
I don't know if this applies, but I will give it a shot!
One day in one of my classes, a younglady was talking about the different sororities (AKAs, Deltas, and Zetas) on our campus. She was saying how she wanted to be a Delta because they were the only sorority (that SHE knew of) that was recognized on campus. I asked her, "What about being an AKA or a Zeta, just because they aren't recognized, doesn't mean that you can't join that organization" and she said, "They aren't around, I wouldn't know one if I saw one. They are soooo mysterious!" Well it just so happened that we (ZETAS) just got recognized on the next day. So that following day, I come to class with my Zeta sweatshirt and she tells me, "I didn't know you were a Zeta" and I tell her "Yes I am, and as a matter of fact, I am a charter member..." and I also told her, "BTW...Zetas are not mysterious...never judge a book by its cover, open the book and read it. You may learn something new..." The look on her face was PRICELESS and needless to say she has been on my jock ever LOL! |
