Need Ideas for a Bachelorette party?
OK my best friend has asked me to be the Maid of Honor in her wedding. It's not for another year...but my responsibilities include the bachelorette party. Help! I was thinking maybe Vegas? we have to do something everyone can afford. If I were to guess, I'd say no one is just really hurtin for money. So Vegas could be possible..... any other ideas?

When you plan the bachelorette party, keep the bride's tastes in mind. Some women aren't comfortable with strippers or blatant sexual innuendoes.
Get the other bridesmaids to help out with some of the planning. As maid of honor, you're in charge, but that doesn't mean you have to do all the legwork. You could make a weekend of it, and go to Vegas or somewhere else, or hit some local bars/clubs. You have lots of options. Have fun! :) |
I don't know what kinds of places are by where you live, but in NYC we have a bar that's in a beauty salon. I heard it's pretty popular for bachelorette parties. You could do a spa day or weekend or something.

OMG that would be soooo unbelievable!!! And is could be very possible if I could ever find a roommate in NYC!! What's the name of that place? |
I'll look it up for you. :)

HottyToddy, the name of the place is Beauty Bar. Their website says they also have branches in LA and San Francisco. They have a $10 manicure and drink combo that soungs really fun.

My God! That place looks like sooooo much fabulous fun! Only $10 for a martini and a manicure? Don't martini's cost $10 in NYC anyway? |
Yea. It's not surprising to have to pay $15 for one.

$13-$15 for a drink is pretty standard in Manhattan.
Only $10 for a manicure and a drink? My salon charges more than that, and the only drink you get is water! <--- heading for nearest Metro-North station and making tracks to the Beauty Bar |

Question: How early is too early for a bachelorette party? My cousin is getting married at the end of November, but she's really busy the days leading up to her wedding, so the weekend before is out. The only other time more people can make it is over Columbus Day/Canadian Thanksgiving weekend in October. That's more than a month before. Would that be too early?
Thanks :) ETA: It's actually more shower than bachelorette since my cousin is NOT a party girl and one girl we're thinking of inviting is under 21 (but over 18) |

Windy City!
Chicago is always fun! The bars are good there....

I just threw a bachelorette party for my friend and she was not the "stripper" type for I had a cocktail party at my house where every guest brought a pair of sexy panties and she had to guess who brought which pair (sounds lame but is fun!) then rented a limo and went to a drag club/dinner theater and to a club after. It was all really fun, totally a girls night out thing. Good luck with the planning, i was totally stressed but it went really well.
