Daschle wins in South Dakota
Brad Carson wins in Oklahoma
Inez Tenenbaum wins in South Carolina
Martin Frost wins in Texas
Allyson Schwartz in Pennsylvania
Debbie Wasserman Schultz in Florida

I want Eric Cooper, Libertarian, to beat Lisa Heddens, Democrat Incumbent, for IA House Dist 46.

*No Republican challenger on ballot
*Heddens only took progressive stances on social issues when the other State Representative from Ames and the State Senator from Ames talked with her
*Heddens and her staff blew me off when I called and visited the capitol when Republicans tried to ban same-sex couples from being able to adopt or be foster parents in Iowa.

I've met Brad Carson... he's a good guy. If I remember correctly, his dad is a member of my Masonic lodge in Claremore, Oklahoma.

As for Frost vs. Sessions, it's a downright nasty political fight... two incumbents fighting for a seat in Congress, thanks to redistricting.

No matter who wins any race, she/he will not be from my party because I don't claim any political party and have never voted a party line in my life. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sessions defeat Frost in Texas, myself.

Old Streak Sessions would win my vote just because he DID run nekkid in college. My kind of guy. :p

If only Bob Wexler (D-Fl), Henry Waxman (D-Ca), and Barbara Boxer (D-Ca) could go down in flames.

Perhaps not in this election. But then again I don't know about elections in other states. But I voted for a democrat in the last gubernatorial election in Tennessee...the current governor Phil Bredesen..

I agree with Daschle in SoDak.

He heavily carries the Native American vote in the state, and then helps to increase their benefits. Truly the idea of what a representative should do. He also saved the livelyhood of Rapid City by fighting to keep Ellsworth AFB open after they removed the missle sites there.

I didn't vote for him though. Although i voted in the Presidential election, as someone who has only lived here for one year, i abstained from the senate election.

Re: Carson vs. Coburn in Oklahoma, I think Carson's campaign heavily misrepresented his voting record. He also had 527's running negative ads that accused Coburn of doing things that even the prosecuting attorney said he didn't do. A month ago, it looked like Carson had the race in the bag and then, his ads seemed to backfire.

I like that Coburn is a VERY fiscal conservative and will be an advocate against pork barrel spending. Socially, however, he's slightly to the right of Atilla the Hun.

On the brighter side of things, he's a Sigma Nu from our Epsilon Epsilon chapter at Oklahoma State :D

CANNOT BELIEVE Daschle lost.

This will probably ruin your morning, but i actually agree with you. I've been sitting here since Thune's victory speech saying, "I can't believe that Daschle lost".

I thought that guy would own that seat until he decided to run for President or VP.

Seriously, Daschle losing is like, oh, I don't know, China not being communist. Something we never thought would happen.

Never thought Daschle would lose...and I definitely would have favored Carson in Oklahoma.

Locally, there was a Democrat I voted for for the State House of Reps. In many cases, there wasn't much of a choice with only Dems running.

I voted for the Democratic sherrif in our county. :)

Daschle was never sure of his job. He is considered by many to be an incredible hypocrite because what he supports nationally is at odds with what he supports in South Dakota. He was, however, able to bring some attention to South Dakota's needs while his buddies in a large newspaper there made sure there was no criticism of him in the papers.

This is very demoralizing for the Democrats. It was salt on the wound.

Because of certain policies he supported that affected me I would have gladly voted for him. The people of South Dakota have different interests though.

The only Republican I ever voted for was the guy who ran against Hillary Clinton for New York Senator in 2000. I don't even remember his name. He lost. Oh well. At least we still have Chuck Schumer.
