Open Mouth, Insert Foot
 

This is for times when you've really stuck your foot in your mouth. I apparently did this with my boyfriends brother but failed to realize it. It's things like this that reinforce my decision to never give dating advice to people.
He had a really BAD break-up with his ex-girlfriend. We were talking & I mentioned that his ex was real screwy for all the crap she's pulling like posing nude among other things. He looked stunned! I then realized that he didn't know this. I stupidly assumed he knew b/c I heard this story from my boyfriend. She was going around to people from school & work telling them this. Well, he demanded to know everything I had heard & the last I talked to him, he was very curt with me & hasn't talked to me since. I feel so stupid & regret opening my mouth to gossip. *sigh* I hate when things like this happen.

Don't feel bad; you didn't do anything wrong. How were you supposed to know that he wasn't aware of the nudie pix?

If you are feeling uncomfortable and want to clear the air, though, next time you see him take him aside and say something like, "Hey, I really shouldn't have mentioned what I'd heard about (ex girlfriend). I'm sorry I brought it up to you, and I hope things aren't going to be uncomfortable between us because of it."

Then the ball's in his court and you've gone above and beyond anything you could have been expected to say.

I saw him today & he told me not to sweat it. I was relieved b/c though I know I didn't do anything wrong, it still feels crappy.
All's better now...for the time being.
