One of the very first things we were taught in R-TV courses was to ALWAYS assume that a microphone was on, a camera was on and they were either on live or someone was taping somewhere.

Guess he forgot... :) Anyone remember President Reagan's famous radio gaffe that had the Russkies sh*tting in their pants?

Yep, and a couple of "off mic" comments -- one by each of the presidential candidates as I recall -- during this campaign.
