Philanthropy round
Hi girls! I've never posted here, but our chapter at Elon University is having a difficult time coming up with an easy craft for our philanthropy round during recruitment. We will probably have about 250 girls coming through so it needs to be something that is quick and easy to make, but wont cost a lot to buy supplies! Thanks so much for all your help!

You could try decorating small paper bags and then filling them with toys and such to take to the hospitals... You could also make "Have a nice day" or "thinking of you" cards for the kids too... Hope that helps!

We made boo-boo bunnies, which are basically bunnies made out of washcloths, that can hold an ice cube for a kid to hold on his boo-boo. They're pretty easy to make, they're cute, and they're useful. You just have to find somewhere to buy washcloths in bulk so they're cheaper.

Thanks girls for all your help! A sorority on our campus already does the boo bunnies, but they are such a cute idea! I think we're going to have the girls make pinwheels and decorate them, then bring them to our local boys and girls club.

That's a cute idea... I've always loved pinwheels... Especially sparkly ones!

Tic Tac Toe
Get some 4x4 ceramic tiles, paint pens, two colors of the flattened glass marbles (like what's used in floral arrangements, etc), and the small drawstring party favor bags like what is used to put mints in at a wedding....
Have the women use a paint pen and ruler to draw the tic-tac-toe criss-cross, put five of each color marble in the bag... wa-la. I know a chapter that was successful in getting Home Depot to donate the tiles and Michaels to donate everything else... their cost - zero. |
We used to make sock puppets. Just get a bunch of socks, some buttons, string/yarn, beads, magic markers, hot glue guns and wahlah! Sock puppets!
