Any Cute Customs in Your Chapter?
About two weeks before rush, a lot of my sisters (including myself) got little ivy leaves tattooed on the inside on their right ankles. Basically our thought behind it was that we may not all stay really close after college, but we can look down at our ankles and remember the fun times we all had together while we were in college. DG at my school also does this with the anchor on their ankles, but I'm not sure which one. Does any other chapter do anything cute like this?

I remembered seeing your sisters (maybe you were there too!?!) @ Regional Conference this past year....I'll definitely look for them and the Ivy Leaf tattoos this coming year!!
as for customs....actually quite a few of our sisters have done the Ivy Leaf/Alpha Phi tattoo! I'm trying to think of others we have.... |
This comes from Minnesota, not UCLA, but it's one of my favorite A Phi customs...
When a member gets married she sends the chapter a cup and saucer from her china set. The chapter uses them for coffee on preference. It's a great way to remember your alumnae on preference night and at other times. |

Were you allowed to tattoo your letters? Word got around that we werent because it would be "wearing" your letters when youre drinking. I like our little ivy leaves though. :) |
I love the cup and saucer idea! What a beautiful custom!

Oh I love that idea!! Plus it gives chapters something wonderful to talk about at preference - that Alpha Phi is for a lifetime. That's terrific!

The cup and saucer idea is wonderful! I will have to pass that along!
At Omega, when Formal Recruitment is over, the Formal Recruitment team poses with a broom on the 2nd floor signifying a clean sweep - Omega's sign for making quota. It is a long standing tradition for Omega and the Recruitment Team really enjoys it. http://www.texasalphaphi.org/images/accent57.jpg |
