Sisterhood retreat and stuff
 

We just got back from sisterhood retreat and had an absolute blast! So now I am all about more sisterhood vacations. Normally, we have a spring sisterhood retreat, but the past couple of years we haven't been able to. We are thinking about going to Macon, GA. Have any of you guys been? Where did you stay? Would anyone wanna go and meet the Kappa Pi's while we were down there? :p

Sorry to butt in but I'm from GA and have been to Wesleyan and The Cannonball house several times. Our founder is buried there too and I've been to that. The Philomathean (sp?) room is in the CBHouse next to the Adelphean room and they are both beautiful and full of history, I think they're set up to look like the old meeting rooms. Wesleyan is cool too b/c they have a museum set up and the buildings where ADPi/Phi Mu used to meet burned down but they have photos with the rooms marked. If you guys have any questions about where/when and all that, I'd be happy to answer. Anyway, IT's a great place for members of the "Macon Magnolias" to visit. I try to go at least once a year!

I also LOVVVVEEE your enthusiasm for sisterhood!! Its a great thing for any chapter.. i think it would be awesome to go to Macon, Ive always wanted to go..but sadly :( I am very far south (in Miami) and havent traveled that far north in a while. I think it would also be cool to see the new headquarters when it opens (if it is not already.. i dont think it is yet.. but i havent gotten an aglaia in a while so im not sure)

Initiation this Saturday IS at Weslayan - still figuring out which room, etc. The day starts w/ visiting the Cannonball house and then ritual at the college.

I'm glad I'm in Georgia to continue that tradition. :D

WOW! I think getting innitiated at Wesleyan will be even more special for those girls.
Wouldnt it be neat if there were a "renewing of vows" kinda thing for sisters..similar to renewing wedding vows... getting renewed at the place where it all began.. :)

There is a ceremony called the Recommitment Ceremony. Alum and collegians can both do this. That would be awesome to do that ceremony there.

That is so awesome that you all are having initiation there. That would be so special. I am even more excited about a possible retreat there now that I know there is so much history still there. We have an ADPi chapter here at Tech... maybe we could do a sisterhood thing together... hmmm... that would be kinda cool... are there any places in that area that could accomodate a big group like that? Oh I am so excited!
Oh and a recommitment ceremony would be so great! Maybe not to the newest girls( since they would have been initiated sisters for only a few months), but I am sure they would still love it.

i am SOOO jealous!!! how exciting that initiation is at wesleyn. i thought our initiation was cool bc there was a quatrefoil in our chapel...lol.
