Hoop earrings

I thought it was appropiate to "recycle" trends every 20 years, not every five or ten years.

There are girls with hoop earrings popping up everywhere! Ewwww! I remember seeing 7 hoop earrings in my class this morning. Four pairs silver hoops big enough to stick your fist through. Three pairs of ghetto fab earrings. One pair of hoop earrings shaped like a heart. I looooooved the 90s too, but people need to GET OVER IT!

Thankfully I've never been into hoop earrings. When I was in high school, the rule said hoop earrings were to be no bigger than a quarter, so I just got used wearing small ones.

I have to admit, some look nice, but those big ones where you can stick fists through them...I'm sorry, TRASHY!

I usually stick to diamond studs or pearls. However, every now and again, I break out my hoops. Usually, when I'm going hippie chic.

I just accidentally stepped on my white gold hoops and squashed them a little. I need to get them fixed. They are about the size of a quarter.

OMG. I wore the most gigantic hoop earrings back in the day. The bigger, the better.

Oh no! Not the door knocker earrings! I wore studs or small hoops. (I have 4 holes in each ear) I used to do a lot of baby sitting and didn't want a rugrat pulling them out of my ear

I like hoop earrings. :o
I don't wear the really big, tacky hoops. The ones I wear are no bigger than a quarter.

Haven't people been wearing them the past 3 years or so? I think they made a comeback because of SATC or something. A lot of people around here wear them for going out and such.

I thought so, too. They've been really popular here for a while.

There's nothing wrong with the smaller hoop earrings. It goes quite well with my curly hair.

Now those gigantic hoops.....that's a different story.

Hoop earrings are one of my favorite looks this fall! I wear 2" gold ones with my hair all wild and curly, 70s inspired button-down shirts, and tight jeans. It's hot. :)

AlphaGamDiva 10-21-2004 02:13 PM

The former headmistress at my school used to call big hoop earrings, "shower curtain earrings". "Shower curtain earrings" were banned (and still are banned) when the girls are in uniform.

My sophmore year roomate had to have surgery to repair her earlobe because the weight of the earrings she wore ripped it. The 90's fun times.
