Seriously... I wonder if that's what happened to my voter registration?

I changed my address twice with people on the street.... and the voter registration office never had record of it. Finally got it changed when I changed my drivers license.

There's been A LOT of problems in Pittsburgh with people who have filled out forms not getting their voter cards

Mr. 33 registered through the county voting bureau (or whatever it's officially called at the courthouse) and had no problem. I would never trust randoms on the street to get stuff like that done.

There was a story last week or so -- don't remember where, but I think on Talk of the Nation on NPR -- that a company like this one actually took registrations from people from both parties, but destroyed the ones from Democrats instead of sending them on to the county.

I can live with some dirty tricks, but this is fooling around with peoples right to vote.

While I know this looks sketchy, this has been going on since Day One. Trust me, the Democratic National Committee has done the same thing, and they're in the business of registering Republicans just as much as the RNC is in the business of registering Democrats.

I can't say that I'm proud of it, but when I was an avid Democrat and was registering people, I would collect the Democratic ones and tell the Republican ones to mail theirs in on their own - because that's what I was told to do.

Quite true.

But all things political have gotten extremely nasty since then. I'm not trying to condone this, in any way, I guess I'm just saying that it's nothing new.

I switched my voting address from Broward County to Orange County a few months ago. I made sure to get the necessary forms directly from the Orange County Elections office. Just like 33girl said, I wouldn't trust the people on the street to get this done. I've heard too many of these stories this year.

They're now registering 17 year olds and people who aren't even citizens of this country.

Also interesting is that we have a Democrat for governor and a republican attorney general... It is the AG's responsibility to look into all this, we'll see if he does.... :rolleyes:

There have been a lot of voter registration problems out there. I think they should be investigated.
