Another Quick MS Office Question...
I have Office 2000 on my PC, specifically with Outlook Express. I got Office 2003 Pro (specifically, Outlook). I am going to install it (as the upgrade), and am wondering if I'll loose all the emails in my inbox that have downloaded from the server as I logon?
Will the upgrade preserve my Outlook Express contacts list? Will the upgrade just add Outlook and leave Outlook Express so I'd have to bounce between the two systems? Thanks for your help! |
if you save your .pst from your old program and then import it to the new program, you should be ok. that's what i did when i was upgraded to 2003 earlier in the year and i was able to save everything.

Ok, but how do I find the .pst file (I tried a find file)? Then how do I import it into Outlook? |
i'm not exactly sure how it's done in express, but in outlook you go to
tools options mail setup data accounts and it will show you where the data file is saved too. there is also an add option and you can browse out from there to add a different file. |
You don't need to worry about anything. If you're doing an upgrade all your settings and mail is saved. If you want to be safe you can try saving it but really I don't think it's necessary.
