If you couldn't tell by now, I'm extremely bored.

I wanted to know what everyone thought about Destiny's Child new single Survivor. I noticed that everyone got a change to sing and in the video the camera was on somebody else besides Beyonce. Some of the lyrics are directed toward the ex-members of the group.

What do you all think.

I'm torn actually. The beat is tight, and so are the lyrics;however, I don't like how they're making themselves out to be the victims. What real hardships have they encountered in which they can call themselves a,"survivor" http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/confused.gif It seems to me that Le Toya & LaTavia are the true survivors,esp. since they won w/ a settlement & got their Grammys http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif

Well, I like the beat! However, I don't think they had to put the other 2 girls out there like that...I mean there is a part in the song where they say their mother taught them better than to call people out over the internet or whatever, but you go out and write a whole song trashing somebody...come on, that's a little contradictory to me.
I am glad that everyone else seems to be getting equal singing time, (I'm glad that I finally got to hear Michelle...I think that girl can sang http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif ) but I don't think they could make it on their in a solo career!

I actually went to a Kiss or WBLS concert (can't remember who) in NY earlier this year and that is where I had the opportunity to hear Michele sing. She can blow, I wasn't sure if she was nervous or didn't know the words but at one point during the song "Independent Women" she kinda had me worried. Regarding the video, I think they are showing more and more signs of becoming Beyonce(sp?) and Co. I only say that because of the outfits they wore. In all previous appearances the would all wear the same outfit but one would wear shorts, the other pants, the other a skirts but during the beginning of the video coming off the beach the Big B had on her yellow/gold/whatever color outfit, with it's own cut and the other two had on identical outfits. B's mom is the designer so why would she do this? But hey, maybe I'm wrong. Time will only tell. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif

Queen I agree with you about the Supremes. They are just like the Supremes. If anybody didn't know the Supremes had a least 4 different members. A couple left the group and one died. Destiny's Child is definitely a deja vu of the Supremes.

Conspiracy2, I think that Michelle could hold her own, but as a gospel singer. She just has that gospel in her voice.

The beat is HOT, however it sounds like the rest of their songs. I agree if she claims not to do so much dissin' why write/sing the song? Also is it me or do they all sound alike?

Kelly, has a song on the DOWN TO EARTH soundtrack, where she sings by herself. She sounds great. The song is called "Angel" and talks about how she appreciates ________ in her life. In the beggining of the song she says that it is dedicated to her friends, fans, Destiny, future childre, etc. It's real nice. Check it out. The entire cd is good.

Yeah, that CD is tight!! I like that Jill Scott song on there!

You know, in Savoy mag, beyonce's dad said he wanted a Supremes group to run, a new empire for him. No big surprise, but they were wrong for dissing, when everyone knows, it was Beyonce's dad playing Machiavelli that got most of this started. Plus the two L's can SING! I am glad they got their Emmys!
