NPC Founding Dates...Spring or Fall?

I've seen threads with all of the YEARS listed, but I was curious if more groups were founded in the fall or in the spring.

Chi Omega began April 15, 1895, so we started in the spring.

Alpha Delta Pi was founded on May 15, 1851, also in the spring.

But for the chapters which are already out for the year by then, they celebrate Founders' Day on their individual chapter's Founding Day (ours in February 15, 1851 - notice a pattern?).

Phi Mu was founded on January 4, 1852 and made their public announcement on March 4, 1852 which is what is celebrated as our Founder's Day.

So we are a winter group :)

Iowa State's CPC Sororities are split equally fall and spring:

Fall term:
Kappa Kappa Gamma: October 13, 1870
Alpha Chi Omega: October 15, 1885
Kappa Delta: October 23, 1897
Delta Zeta: October 24, 1902
Sigma Kappa: November 9, 2874
Gamma Phi Beta: November 11, 1874
Delta Delta Delta: November 24, 1888

Spring term:
Alpha Omicron Pi: January 2, 1897
Kappa Alpha Theta: January 27, 1870
Phi Beta Chi: March 26, 1978
Chi Omega: April 5, 1895
Alpha Xi Delta: April 17, 1893
Pi Beta Phi: April 28, 1867
Alpha Delta Pi: May 15, 1851
Alpha Gamma Delta: May 30, 1904

(yes, I have this info- I'm the one that sends them a card and flowers on their Founders' Day)

I haven't read any of the early issues of the Quarterly but I wonder if the standard school year calendar as we know it now was the same during our founding. If it was then AGD's Founders must have established AGD when classes were already ended for the summer. I think I remember reading somewhere (probably here on GC in Maria's fabulous trivia thread) that not all our 11 Founders were present on that day.

Either way, while our founding date is May 30, 1904 we formally celebrate the day with International Reunion Day in April. While our different chapters generally use different Saturdays during the month to celebrate, the idea and purpose remains the same!

On or around March 15th ;) Which is the founding date of the Eta Chapter at The University of Akron. Just had to add that! (I'm not proud or anything....:D )

The Kappa Phi Club was founded in January of 1916 (I don't believe there is an exact date) - so we're a winter group.
