...the beloved, phenomenal, awe-inspiring, audacious, diligent, 22 Founders of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority made history when they participated in the Women's Suffrage March in Washington, D.C. That event on March 13, 1913, set a precedent for what was in store for Delta Sigma Theta. As a Public Service Sorority rooted in a Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, Delta has touched and improved the lives of millions of people all over the globe.

And y'all ain't seen nothin' yet!!!

Here's to 89 more years (and then some) of Public Service! OO-OOP!

It can easily be done. I know parts of the chapter struts, chants, songs and dances. But I will NEVER forget that chant and some others I had to quack, oh I mean sing.

On March 3, 1913, a band of suffragists in Washington D.C. staged such a remarkable demonstration for women’s rights that it has long been acknowledged as one of the high points in the 72-year drive for Votes for Women in the U.S.

Hats off to our sorority for its first public act and the beginning of a legacy of social action 93 years ago.

It feels good to know Delta was a part of such a monumental and historic occasion.

I AM PROUD!

It is only fitting to recognize the accomplishments of our Founders doing Women’s History month. Our Founders participation in the 1913 Women’s Suffrage March left us a legacy of activism, of service, of love and is a story to cherish.
