How Many Poor Presidents have you know?
Who was a poor President when He was placed into office?
Who was the poorest when He left Office? Who was placed in a position as a President? How much does it cost for election campaigning for a 100,000 + job a year. Just to be someone impotent and run a Country? Maybe one or two only! Dig History Buffs and come up with an answer!:) |
I know the answer to #2 without looking it up.. Gerald Ford. He as appointed to the VP post and became Pres when Nixon resigned. He was never elected.

We apologize
Once again, the entire state of Georgia would like to apologize for Jimmy Carter.

If you're talking in dollars and cents, Tom, I'm going to guess that Lincoln was fairly poor when going into office, and Jefferson when he left office.
I do know that there are "price tags" on each public office from local dog catcher on up. I don't know what the current prices are, but obviously the Presidency costs several million. |
I hate both of the cannidates. I can't bring myself to vote for anyone who is running. Either the US is awesome so no one who should be president is pissed off enough to run, or the country sucks so much ass our choices are bush and kerry. Goddamn what a stupid election year. I don't care who wins. I'll einie minnie miney moe at the voting both.

Just because Carter couldn't bring himself to stoop to the mud-slinging shithole that is the swamp of Washington DC on the Potomac does not make him a bad president.
...wait... maybe it does. |
Jefferson was bankrupt when he left the presidency. The only reason he wasn't placed into debtors prison is because it would have looked bad to have a former United States President in debtors prison.
|
James Monroe was pretty poor. U.S. Grant probably was, too.
