Election 2006: Greeks Running for Office

Are there any Greeks where you live running for office this year?

I ask this because after church today on my car was an election campaign index card for Linwood O. Foust, member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., running for Superior Court Judge in Judicial District 26A in Charlotte, NC.

This is only meant to serve as a thread where we share any Greeks who are running for office, be it judicial, local, national, etc.

in Hamilton County/Cincinnati, APhiA Fanon Rucker is running for County Prosecutor as a write-in candidate. he's running on the Democratic ticket and he's the first Black person to run for this position. it's a very big deal here and i'm hoping that he pulls it out. the GOP has a stranglehold on this position (among others) and we are desperately in need of a change.

if you live in Hamilton County, remember:
WRITE IN RUCKER:D

Wendy, I know the pink/green, black/gold will pull Bro. Rucker across the finish line first.

Up in Summit County (closer to Cleveland), the Hon. Carla Moore (DST) is a common pleas judge running for a judgeship on the 9th District Court of Appeals.

Yes, anyone residing in Lorain, Medina, Wayne or Summit counties please get out and vote for Judge Carla Moore on Nov 2nd. She has the experience needed for the Ninth District Court of Appeals. I know this because I interned with her this summer and I have worked with her on her campaign. For more information on Judge Moore please visit her web site at Judge Moore

Fanon Rucker, APhiA is in a debate tonight w/the OH State Treasurer Joe Deters, who's the former county prosecutor and also a write-in candidate. i hope Fanon Rucker does really well. a lot of Blacks have registered to vote in this county so that's a good sign as far as votes.
a saw a chapter soror on TV helping out in his office and a soror in my book club is helping his campaign so we AKAs are definitely behind him:D
good luck to DST Hon. Moore in her race;)

I love Judge Moore. I used to deal with her quite frequently at my previous job. I hope she wins that election. She deserves it.

I still don't know who all won what in NC. I've been too preoccupied with presidential results.

I do realize that i am late on this and that he isnt greek but his dad is. but Harold Ford Jr. (Father Harold Ford, APhiA) is running. He's up for the senate in TN against Corker. Overall he's a pretty great fellow, i had the honor of meeting and introducing him quite a few times in high school and college so I wanted do a plug.
