8 colonies?!

Do we really have 8 colonies? I am so out of the loop...

RUASTgrrl 10-08-2004 02:14 PM

"Our new colonies are...

1) Delta Psi, Johnson & Wales University - Denver, Colorado
2) Delta Omega, Penn State Altoona - Altoona, Pennsylvania
(BTW: This is a local sorority that is joining AST.)
3) Epsilon Alpha, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University - Prescott, Arizona
4) Epsilon Beta, University of Texas-Pan American"

5) Epsilon Gamma, Armstrong Atlantic State Univ , Savannah GA
6) Epsilon Delta colony in Claremore, Oklahoma (not sure of the school but the only school there seems to be Rogers State Univ, and there is no mention of them on the site

There are 2 more. I'll keep searching!!

Yes, it's Rogers State. The school is opening to Greek Life for the first time. Good luck with your colonies.

LIZ!!!!

Where you been?!?!?!?!? Here's the other ones I know about....

Gamma Psi at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts(recolonization of a closed chapter).
Delta Chi at Christian Brothers University in Memphis (which should be installed by December, I think.)

What's new with you anyway?

Um.....not sure what exactly we're calling Alpha Mu. They would have had no initiated members coming back this fall, so last spring our EC's talked to a local sorority on campus, and about 18 members of that local pledged AST, thereby revitalizing that chapter. So technically, none of the members are initiated, but they will be when they finish the NM education process in November. They never lost their charter, so they are listed as an actual chapter (instead of a colony).

I don't know if the local is still functioning or not. I know that the campus Greek Advisor wasn't really in favor of them continuing as a local group, which may be why they went AST.

As of 9/29 Alpha Mu had 31 new members, making it the largest sorority on campus (and probably the largest any sorority has been on that campus in a while). Their District President has been diligently working with them. I worked with this chapter when I was a TC (now called EC), and was very frustrated by the lack of support/interest from the administration and high turnover rate of greek advisers.
Personally, I would call it a (very successful) reorganization...

PsychTau 10-13-2004 12:26 PM

True. Very successful is the correct word. I went down there for a training weekend right before school started. They were awesome!!!

I believe that one of the Alpha Mu's are actually on GC....

Chapter charters?

Does anyone know if any of these colonies have become chapters yet? (I know Delta Chi is still a colony, but I don't know about the others.)

PS - If you wanna visit some other chapter / colony websites, check out this link. :)
