Teacher Booted for Displaying President's Picture
My father showed this one to me today....
"A New Jersey middle school teacher who displayed a portrait of the president of the United States in her classroom side-by-side with pictures of other U.S. presidents and the Declaration of Independence was thrown out of her school on Friday for refusing to take the Bush photo down." complete story: http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2...4/111256.shtml |
What a bunch of stupid ass idiots.

Its a good thing that the teacher was disciplined because she might have influenced the way her students will vote.
Oh wait, they're in the fourth grade. |
I hope the publicity helps the school board make the decision to apologize and 'rehire' the teacher (according to superintendent nobody has resigned or been fired), fire the principal (who, from other articles was the one to tell her to leave), admonish the vice-principal and tell parents if they dont like that the teacher was being nonpartisan they can take their kids to private schools.

The picture is appropriate in the fact that he is current sitting president.
I think the parent's questioning was a bit out of line. |

That is such BS.....he is the sitting president for God sakes.....so he is running for re election he still is the sitting president. they would best to hire her back and apologize. she did nothing wrong.

If you follow the logic of the parents who say that she should put up Kerry's picture also because he is running against Bush and you need to give equal face time (in a fourth grade classroom, no less) to him, then the teacher should technically be required to put up a picture of every candidate who ever ran in a presidential election. That's a whole lot of wall space....

They were out of line to make her take that down. Last year, my son (2nd grade at the time) had to do a report on a famous person and was assigned Bush. He had to do an oral report and dress up as his famous person! Anybody who reads this board has to know how thrilled I was to help him with THAT report! I did my own version and sent it to his teacher in a sealed envelope. She called me laughing, it was our own personal joke.
