Snap Bidding
What exactly is snap bidding and when would it come to be used?
|
PNMs who are not picked up through bid matching (meaning, the sororities on their pref card had met quota or did not have her high enough on their bid list) can be "snap-bid" by chapters who are not at quota or total immediately. The PNM may not accept it, since she didn't have them on her pref card, or the chapter may choose to not to extend a snap bid, since they may have cut her in earlier rounds or don't know her well enough to extend a bid to join their sisterhood.

Snap bids can also be offered to girls who drop out before preference.
We were one under quota one year, and picked up someone who had to leave rush for a family emergency, but who had indicated to her (non-ASA) rush counselor that she would have wanted to go ASA if she had been able to stay in. |

Snap bids are great, in my opinion. :D PsychTau |

I was offered a snap bid through my sorority and I think its great that I was able to join and I am happy. If it wasn't for the snap bid, I probably wouldn't have gone greek.
