Sweet Strawberries & Tarnished Crowns
 

New idea for a thread, lifted off of similar ones in other forums.


Sweet Strawberry: We finally have reliable babysitters and Avner loves them both.

Tarnished Crown: I have a huge work deadline and it's on my birthday. :(

Next...add yours to the list.

Sweet Strawberry: My cousin is moving and is selling her pool table for half of what it's worth. We have the perfect room for it in our house!

Tarnished Crown: This is like hell week. Recruitment for the chapter I advise starts Thursday (I am acting as both GA and membership advisor), plus the volleyball team I coach has two games this week. I feel like I have no time. The first free Saturday I have is October 16th (and this is since the beginning of September).

Sweet Strawberry: My roommate and I are finally going to have our yard sale on Saturday after putting it off for so long due to the hurricanes. This means our garage will no longer be a storage unit!!

Tarnished Crown: This means I have to be up at 7am on Saturday so no sleeping in for me. :(

one of my bestest zta friends is rekindling a romance that spans back to her college days. both she and her new beau have similar divorce experiences and at first just talked on the phone to commiserate, but love is in bloom and she deserves it!!

tarnished crown:
both my daughter and son have cross country events this saturday a.m., my son in town and my daughter out of town, so my husband and i have to tag team it.

Sweet Strawberry:
My husband and I bought our first house, our son loves his new daycare in our new town, and I love working for my mom while finishing school...


Tarnished Crown:
Until my husband's new job starts, we are having to see each other for a week and then having to be apart for one week:( , we're really broke having to pay moving costs and such, I got bit in the face by a Cocker Spaniel I was grooming and my lip is shredded now...

I know I'm completely interrupting the theme of this thread but I just had to jump in and say....OW! How did that happen?!

Well, I had him on the grooming table. One minute he was loving on me. The next, he lunged at me while I was looking him over seeing what else I needed to do. It's pretty bad.


Starburst, I wrote you back! I am so glad you've introduced yourself to everyone else!

Cocker spaniels are the #1 dog most likely to bite and have temperment problems. Hope you heal soon.

ps a cocker bit my husband on the lip years before we met-totally unexpected too.

Sweet Strawberry: Kappa Theta's recruitment is over! Although they didn't make quota, they are improving.

Tarnished Crown: The wheels and tires were stolen off my 3 month old car! It was parked in my driveway. When I went outside this morning to go to work it was up on bricks. I can't believe someone took it! Hopefully I'll get the insurance money soon!

Sweet Strawberry - My boyfriend and I have decided to work things out and everything is going really well and we're both very happy.

Tarnished Crown - We've told our families and the responses haven't been great. He told his mom last night and she didn't say much. I told my family via email (they never answer the phone) and the only person to respond so far was my step mom (who is supportive like always so she can be a sweet strawberry).

Sweet Strawberry - My knee is finally healing somewhat from surgery on Sept. 1st. (seventh one) Thank goodness for my boyfriend who was so supportive.

Tarnished crown - My parents are in town and my mother is driving me nutso....UGH! My brother and sister-in-law NEVER offer to have them stay with them. GRRRRRR:mad:

This month is nuts:

Tarnished Crown: My grandmother passed away October 1st.

Sweet Strawberry: I was able to be with her to say "Good bye".

Tarnished Crown: I had to miss the funeral...

Sweet Strawberry: ...because my husband, my children, my mother, my sister-in-law and I left for Disney World the next day for a trip that we have been planning for 8 months.

Tarnished Crown: I'm having a hysterectomy 10/20.

Sweet Strawberry: The Dallas Night chapter has organized dinners for my family for 2 weeks after that plus a couple of ladies have already sent restaurant gift cards.

Sweet Strawberry: My husband and I will celebrate our 11th anniversary on 10/16. He is a great guy!

Tarnished Crown: Except...he usually doesn't buy a gift or card. Sigh. (I told him that his gift this year will be no more PMS but it hasn't arrived yet.;))

I am surpisingly not stressed about any of this...maybe just a bit weepy but that is to be expected.

Oh, LaRue -- it has been a crazy month for you. My condolences on your grandmother's passing! Sending you healing thoughts for your surgery, too.
