Proud Daughter

I am so proud of my mother who will be graduating magna cum laude from the University of Memphis on Saturday, December 16, 2000 with a bachelor's degree in liberal studies with a concentration in theater and African studies. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

The great part about this is she DOES NOT know that I will be there. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

This really touched my heart. I had to reply. I have a really close bond to my mom also. She went back to school a couple of years ago and completed her AA degree. I've been pushing her to continue. Maybe this story will inspire her http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif.

Anyway, I know you are truly proud.

Congrats to mommy!!!!!!

I know your surprise will mean just as much to her as it means to you. I'm gonna cry http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif

Congratulations to you and your mom! That's really inspiring to me because today I'm going to enroll in a community college to complete my AA that I'd started almost 10 years ago. After having two kids, I've procrastinated so much that I'd mentally given up the battle! Thanks for sharing your very inspiring news!

Hey you all, the graduation program with my mother's name and magna cum laude looks sooooo GREAT! She was surprised to see me. I can't express how proud I am of the college graduate.

Jazbri, it's never too late. My mom finished here AA in '98 after going back 20 something years later.

I hope that my mom's story inspires many more. I need to submit an article to Essence.
