Dog Obedience Training

I was wondering if any Greek Chatters would be willing to share some basic tips they have used for obedience training of your pup.

Sit, stay, come, don't bite, be quiet, anything you have used.......

I am getting ready to take my almost 7-month-old pup for obedience training but it is so expensive!!!!! I am not cheap, and he's worth it, but on a Social Worker's salary, $150 per hour lesson is quite steep.

Thanks:D :D :D :D

OMG, taking a pooch to OB school is like putting a Kid in Day Care.

Rolled up loosly newspaper does wonders when do the do do! Rub nose in gently and say No! Oh, pee only not poop, that do get messy.

Sound loud but only stings. A lttle bit.

Walk with a leash, have doggy treats fo doing good. Repeat ones self, jerk lease if neccesary, not hard. Just say No.

Love the Bowser and talk to them, they really are smarter then Humans, they just cannot talk, but they can speak. Learn Dog, I did and it was neat. I would whine, growl and yip and bark.

They really know when you love them!

They know when you dont feel good by your demeanor and tone.

Over the years I have had many dogs, and the funniest one was a pit bull. God, what a woosy but a love, had a grin that was unbeleviable:D

meh- depends on the program. Local animal shelters or 4-H Clubs may offer obedience training where it's more of an assisting you, not training the dog for you. Which is good as it gets you and your dog on a structured program for learning/perfecting the basics.
