Cable Modem: Surfing and Downloading Issues
 

I got a cable modem over the weekend, and so far it is giving me service that is comparable to my DSL service.

However, I have for some reason not been able to surf the internet while downloading music. (Of COURSE I only download music from artists who explicitly state that their work may be freely distributed! ;))

Anyway, I am wondering why this is so? I never had this problem with DSL.

Perhaps it is a side effect of the security manager software that came with the cable modem service?

Are you using a program to download music?

Or just getting it from the sites?

Download itunes. See if you have the same issues.

Call up the man and tell him that since he's damn well taking your hard earned money, he needs to fix this.

I reconfigured winmx and ran a thorough spyware scan. It works much better now, so who knows.....
