Sweethearts
 

I was just elected my chapter's sweetheart last night. So, I'm wondering...what does a sweetheart actually DO except stand there and look pretty? Is this just an honorary thing?

Congratulations on winning your chapter's sweetheart status. I believe that the Sweetheart award is mainly just an honor, but in our chapter the Sweetheart is responsible for revealing the following year's Sweetheart and arranging for her gift.

You should also be honored at your city council's Valentine Banquet.

Our city council has a Sweetheart gala where I and the other sweethearts will be honored. I also prepare the ballots for Woman of the Year, Man of the Year, Pledge of the Year (if there is one--but I'm the only pledge in my chapter this time 'round)

So I get dinner and a gift and all sorts of neat goodies.
