U of Toronto Recruitment
 

hey all-
recruitment began at the University of Toronto yesterday and continues until weds. (bid day).

Round 1a and 1b- house tours
sat. and sun.- girls had to choose to come sat. OR sun.
after attending either sat. or sun. NM's must eliminate 2 houses.

63 women came through which is fantastic for our school. if all sign bid cards, quota will be 9. (in past years quota has hovered around 5-6), i expect quota will end up being 7 or 8 (let's hope)
as usually several girls drop out.

mon. night is philanthropy night
girls attend 5 houses. afterward they must eliminate 2 more houses.

tues. night is pref.
girls attend 3 houses (1st house appetizer, 2nd entree, 3rd dessert) and then rank their choices.

some really great, quality girls have came through so things look good.
i have to say as an alum, it's funny to be able to pick out who you think will be "rush crushes", there are definitely a few this year!

i will try to update tomorrow night, however, i will only be getting results via the phone as i cannot attend (too far to drive). i will be there tues. night to do bid matching.

Do the sororities not cut anybody?

oh yes, definitely the sororities cut girls.
in the last few years we have been using percentages based on the previous years return rates for each round. this means each sorority must cut a certain percentage each round. (though i don't think this starts til round 2) this way the biggest house doesn't continue to grow in leaps and bounds and gives smaller houses a chance at more girls.

A quota of 9 at U of T would be awesome! 7 or 8 would be good too. Good luck to all the U of T sororities this week!
