An opinion about the forum
 

We had a lot of debate last week about "GC"-specific ADPi things and using ADPi terms, etc, and I'm offering the opinion that this forum should be used for the exchange of information about events and sisterhood, and as a support group for good news, sad news, etc. I don't feel it is the appropriate place for what might be considered an online or virtual chapter of ADPi, and we should refrain from hosting online events or "programs" that would make it seem so.

Certainly, there are plenty of ADPi's on GC who agree with me on this one, and there are plenty who do not, but for the sake of keeping the peace, I think any special "happies" or projects should be kept off GC -- perhaps keep them on the Yahoo! Distribution List ASUADPi maintains. There sisters can participate privately to their hearts' content.

Thanks for hearing me out. I'm not a moderator of this board, and I don't care to be, but I am an ADPi. And I just don't feel it is right for these boards to host anything but idea sharing about the sorority experience. We've done a lot of bickering lately, and this proposal is merely to eliminate potentially inflammatory situations such as those to keep the peace.

I am not clear on what you mean by some of this-- "happies" or projects?? Like what?

I am specifically referring to the "secret sisters" that act as virtual diamond sisters, or any other cooperatives that come up.

OHHHHHHHHHHH.....got ya!! I thought you meant like sharing news about our chapters and stuff about ourselves and ADPi! Got it!

I'm going to have to agree with adpiucf.

I have two GC Diamonds. I've enjoyed talking to them, but...

I feel that it started out as a good idea that was perhaps taken a little too far. When I saw discussion about whether or not someone could buy a NMC badge dangle for putting GC Diamond Sisters together...I thought it was about time for everyone to step away from the keyboards and visit life for a while.

ETA- This is not a personal attack on anyone, so don't take it as such.

That was me and it was just a joke. I apologize for having a little fun. I did take offense to that statement, but I'm not sorry for that.

While I'm sure this was started with good intentions, the information is covered in the TOS thread, Forum Guidelines - which everyone who posts on this Forum needs to read or re-read!

Bottom line: ASUADPi maintains Sisters Only Forums, as does Alpha Delta Pi's PO. Please post material that should be for Sisters Only there, not here! If you have a question as to where a post belongs, post it on the Sisters Only Forums or PM texas*princess or myself.

IMHO-- I think this thread needs to be deleted also. Honey has covered it like she said with the TOS thread. Bringing it up once again will only cause more controversy and bring more attention to the issue. Let's drop this topic once and for all-- it's over!
