Requirements for schools to be D IAA or DIA in athletics?

Does anyone know what they are? I combed over the NCAA bylaws for awhile. I couldn't find anything specific.

Attendance is the big thing. I was a D-III athlete for two years so I'm pretty used to finding stuff on their site.

Attendance is part of it also the number of home games is a factor now. When Arkansas plays Louisiana-Monroe in Little Rock this year it will be a "home game" for ULM to up their attendance and home game numbers. That's why you might see more home and home series between upper and lower tier schools than before.

Thanks for the info. I know my alma mater has been kind of inching towards Division IAA lately. Our football attendance is nowhere even close to 20K. Maybe 6-8K on a good day. They're doing some major things though to improve the football program. They just put down turf and are about to do a huge renovation of the stadium.

I know San Jose State Univ. is having give aways and free BBQ at some of their games to boost attendance so that they can keep their Div. 1 standing. I think a lot of schools are having to do different things to up attendance to keep their Div., or move up.
