A.I.

I have a question about Alumni Intiates. How often does Chi Omega do this? My friend is very interested, and I don't really know much about it. In fact I never knew we did it at all until I saw it on greek chat. Would I need to nominate or sponsor her? Do your college grades matter with this? Just curious about the protocol. Please PM me if you can.

There is a bit of information on this in the Chi O Triva thread. NutBrnHair explains it briefly: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ion#post752238

Thank you, Kelly! Anyone else have more info?

Well, I think that summary from NutBrn is about all there is to it. If you want more imformation, I'd suggest you go the the source:

Sarah Thornton
Director of Alumnae Development
sthornton@chiomega.com

Sarah's extremely nice and is usually quick with an email response.

Do keep us posted on this!

I wrote her. This is the letter I sent to her just in case you are interested!

Ms. Thorton,

I have some questions about alumnae initiation. I recently found out that Chi Omega does this, and I would like to know how common this practice is. I have a lovely candidate in mind that is interested. She is an outstanding individual in my community. She is a psychologist that devotes her free time to counseling under privelaged children for no charge. Would I need to nominate her? I would like some general information about this. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Fallon

I think that was a great note. But as NutBrn mentioned in her summary, it is not something we do "all the time" (for lack of a better term). Some groups are extremely open to AI, and others are a but more selective. I think we are are the latter. And by selective I don't mean that we think people aren't "good enough" for it, I think it's just not an area we choose to focus on. But that is all personal opinion!
