Ideas for alumnae meetings?
Hi Sisters,
I need to come up with some new ideas for our alumnae chapter. We meet on the second Monday of each month, and have done the following activities in the past: dutch treat dinners at nearby restaurants, pottery painting, putt-putt golf, Bunco night at a sister's home, movie night at a sister's home, Christmas ornament and cookie swaps at a sister's home, Tastefully Simple/Party Lite/Pampered Chef parties, and Salad Suppers (everyone brings their favorite salad for the group to try). Can anyone suggest some new activities for us? We've been doing the same types of things for several years now, and I'd love to get some fresh ideas. (Collegians, feel free to toss out some ideas also!) Thanks, Carrie :) |
What about Volunteering at a Nursing Home... doing a dinner with them?
Or... Making baskets (I know you can get an instructor to come teach a 1 night class), or painting..etc or...a Bowling tournement (or any other type of sport..) I'll try to think of more for you! :) |
wine tasting...could be done at someone's home, a winery, or a wine shop. I think there was a thread on here somewhere about having wine tastings at home. Good food, good wine, you can't go wrong! :D There are even non-alcoholic wines for those who do not like/can no have the real thing.

These are some of the things my chapter is doing this year:
1. Our chapter is visiting a local quilt exhibit. 2. attending a local art exhibit. 3. having a local author talk about his latest book. 4. movie night (watching the new philanthropy video as well as a segment from the Hallmark Channel on one of our local alums. 5. volunteering as guides in the Decorator Showhouse. These are all great ideas! Thanks to everyone who has posted so far. Keep the info flowing! :)

One great thing we're going to do is have a dessert night after we all attend our Founder's Day celebration. We plan to invite all of the graduating seniors to join us so that we can welcome them into alumnae life.
