JupiterTC's Recruitment Thread

Hi Everyone!

I thought I'd post a recruitment thread as well, since I am going through a recruitment of sorts :). A new NPC organization is colonizing at my school, and the first day of recruitment is tonight! There will be one event a week, and bids will be passed out the beginning of October.

Best of luck to all PNMs!! :D

I went to the info session on Wednesday night, and it went really well. They explained what the organization was about, played a video, and held a Q & A session afterwards. The maximum number of founding sisters is 90, but there is no mininum. There were probably around 50 at the info session, but I'm sure more will show up at other recruitment events.

I really like this organization. I completely agree with their philophies and purpose, and I want to start something new on campus. Something inside me is telling me to go for it. I'm a senior this year and I've gone through formal recruitment before, but I did not feel completely comfortable with the GLOs that were on campus at the time. While I was watching the video, something just clicked. I can't really explain it, but I know this is the organization for me :).

I'm sure it all sounds really lame, but that's been my recruitment experience so far. The next event is a week from tomorrow, where our family members can learn more about the organization. My mom is not Greek, so I'm very excited about her learning more about Greek life.

I hope other PNMs are having great experiences as well, and that each one will find her place! :D

Jupiter,

My best advice is that as you attend more "formal"-ish sort of recruitment parties, TELL them what you just told us-- you want to start something new on campus, you watched the video explaining the mission and ideals of the sorority and something just clicked-- that you would be honored and privileged to be part of this sorority and to be a founding member. From what I know of colonizations, there is an emphasis on finding a good mix of underclassmen AND upperclassmen (younger students for longevity and older students to provide maturity, leadership and serve as role models). Good luck and keep up the positive attitude! It is wonderful that the sorority is including parents of PNM's in its recruitment process-- I hope you and your mom have fun!

Tri Delta (there's a thread in their forum on the Elon colonization)

mmcat 09-12-2004 08:49 AM

a terrific first step.
may it continue to flourish

JupiterTC 09-13-2004 11:29 AM

Thanks for everyone's encouraging words!!! I've found a lot of advice through GC, and everyone on here as been awesome :D

The new group is Tri Delta. I wasn't sure whether or not to disclose the name, because we weren't suppose to give out the names of the sororities on recruitment threads. I guess it's different for me since there is only one group in my case.

October can't come any sooner that's for sure. :)
