Another tragic children tale
We all know about what happen in Russia. However, very few of us know about what is going on in Uganda. A study was recently released that showed that half of the children that were abducted by the LRA and then rescued are HIV positive. This is more tragic as the fight between the LRA and Uganda has gone on for over 12 years and it still going. What's more, over the period of time, more then 12,000 children has been abducted and used as either child soldiers or were raped.
I wish the media would cover this situation in a more dilligent manner. If the study is correct, I would guess that more then 1,000 children have the HIV virus. In the end of the day, the children are the one that suffer in wars. |
If they would do what Ethiopia and Nigeria did, Uganda wouldn't have this problem. Neither would Sudan. I should be President of Earth.

Are you proposing
Are you proposing that the US intervene?
Are you aware of any other nation which has the ability to intervene? I imagine that if Uganda invited us, and the UN approved it, and France, Germany, and Russia said you're the one, a bunch of anti-Bush kooks would condem it, point to Haliburton's potential profits, and cry if one US GI got a flesh wound or a band-aid purple heart. |

(2) Yes (3) WTF? This has nothing to do with US or GWB. It has to do with the tragic situation the children of UGanda. You probably don't care that the LRA has moved north to Southern Sudan now. Last thing Sudan need is another messed up group running around in the country. |
My understanding is that, as in most impoverished and under-educated countries, men infected with HIV seem to think that having sex with a virgin will cure them. As we all know, it most certainly does not.
As in all sexually-related problems, education is the key. Knowledge = power. |
