this is a really interesting question.

while i was going through my process, i had a line sister that was pregnant. she was not judged in anyway but us (her LS's) because her scholastic achievements and social activities (volunteer work) were the bomb and she was the sweetest person you could ever know. she was also unmarried and many people especially older people might have looked down on her but that never stopped her from getting her bachelors, masters and now she is a candidate for a PH.D.

plus on top of that her daughter is now a legacy and has 35 devastating and beautiful aunts. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

Pregnant and Pledging

Hello Members of DST and Fellow Sisterfriends....

(by the way I'm not the one who is pregnant http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif)
(quote from CC)

Since I am an interestee I wanted to know someone's(anyone's) opinion on
my situation. Since I have inquired a little, I became pregnant(which
some call a mistake but I call a surprise blessing) and I have heard of
those still taking part in the intake process of becoming a member while
they were pregnant and I was wonder how other felt about people doing so.

How do you feel about an interestee pledging while pregnant? Is that appropriate?

Being that I come from a "family oriented chapter" (i was talking to a sorhor last night and she called our chapter that.....I thought it was funny)

I don't think it would be a problem, as long as she is sure it will not or has no signs of a complicated pregnancy

But my chapter is full of kids. There were five on my line and four of us have children

Our chapter is always going out doing family oriented things so I don't really see a problem with it, just make sure that first and foremost the mother-to be and baby-to-be are well.

One of my line sisters was pregnant;
Heck, I was going through a divorce; and
I had a LS who was over 55.

Some things just can't be helped and should not cause a dream to be deferred!
