PDP's?

What are some creative Personal Development Pearls you've earned or others in your chapter have earned?

I want to be able to leave the New Members (as well as sisters) with a list of creative PDP's for the upcoming year...

EVERYONE seems to do the same ones year in and year out (drive a stick shift car, lose __ pounds, learn to cook, ect)

Any suggestions?

I have a list somewhere but you probably have that already-- :)

The volunteer positions I've been in have allowed me to see many good ideas. Some of my favorites:

Singing--Take voice lessons in order to be able to sing a solo during pref ceremony second semester

Enhanced creativity--take a pottery class at the local art store to learn about throwing pots. Will auction off projects to raise money for ANAD.

Career Prep--Work with a mentor to develop an academic and personal action plan for preparing for a career in __________.

Political Advocacy--research candidates and provide personal information to chapter sisters on candidates, research both sides of hot button issues and prepare a one page info sheet on the issue monthly to hand out to sisters and classmates; and encourage fellow students to understand the issues and vote.

Understanding other cultures or religions--one weekend of every month, commit to visiting the church, synogue, temple etc. or some other community gathering for a people of a different culture or background than your own.

Along the hunting lines, I once read about a sister who took fly fishing lessons so she would have an activity to do with her dad and brother.
