You Know You're in Florida When.....
 

(Thought the Florida GCers would appreciate this)

1. You own at least five pairs of flip flops.
2. You know someone who's been struck by lightning.
3. You're more scared of the freaks who live down the street than gators.
4. Your backyard is sometimes a swamp.
5. You're officially sick of Disney.
6. You shrug off hurricane warnings.
7. You've been permanently blinded by fat men in speedos.
8. There are only two seasons - hot and hotter.
9. You've drank a flaming alligator.
10. The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
11. Hot water now comes out of both taps.
12. You learn that a seat buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.
13. The temperature drops below 90 and you feel a little chilly
14. You discover that in July it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.
15. You discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
16. You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 am.
17. I-95 has been under construction for 10 years and the projected plan had it done in five and it doesnt look like it will be done for another 20.
18. The highest "mountain" is Mount Trashmore in South Florida.
19. There's a Publix on every corner.
20. You hear 10 jokes through out the day about how your state needs to sit out of the next election.

Ahhh Mount Trashmore... such a staple site of my drive to Orlando from Ft. Lauderdale....


Another one... you can tell the British Tourists from the rest by their sun-burnt farmers tans, wife-beaters and short shorts.... in February!

You can sometimes smell that thing when you're all the way down on Sample and Lyons Road. Can you believe that I went on a fieldtrip to it with my Girl Scout Troup back when I was in 5th grade? We learned how they processed garbage and then had a nice lunch on top of the "mountain". It was so gross.

You know, with Florida law being the way it is, you should sue your teacher and claim that ever since then you've been terrified at the sight of trash and how its had an effect on your life. I'm sure you'd be able to collect something. lol. ;)



And I so feel that list on the parking space for shade. I've been flicked off by little old ladies for stealing the space with shade. :D

Same here we went with our 6th grade science class!! Is this because I went to public school??? Why not the Rapids?? All I remember is that the smell was soooooo horrible!!!

wow, I am so happy we didn't move to Ft Laud until I was in Middle School. OUR field trips were more going to Disney or Butterfly World!
