Er

Hey everyone! Any idea when the new "ER" episodes will start? I'm thinking sometime in late September, but does anyone know for certain?

Also, what do you think the future of this show is? I read someplace that there was a "mutual agreement" between Alex Kingston and NBC that she'd not return. And with the last season's ending, who's to say if Dr. Pratt and Dr. Chen will be around, either?

Thoughts? :)

There are several websites that post spoilers for ER. I was skeptical at first but they were pretty accurate last season. The site didn't make reference to Alex not coming back so I don't know what they did to her character. I haven't read it for several months though. They didn't kill off Pratt or Chen but rescuing and caring for them will be good for several episodes.

I don't visit the spoiler sites, but I have heard that Alex Kingston won't be back (but no so mutually - the writers didn't think her character had anywhere to really go). The promos show both Dr. Chen and Dr. Pratt swimming in the river (eeewwww!!!!), so I imagine that they'll be back.

The first episode will be on 23rd August.

You mean September :D I also heard somewhere that Alex Kingston is going to be in the first one or two episodes so that it doesn't seem like Elizabeth left so abruptly. I think Chen is going to stick around for a while, and we're going to find out more about her dad's situation.

Don't hate me, but I think the future is pretty bleak. ER is way past jumping the shark and has been on life-support for a few seasons now. It's time to close the eyes and pull the sheet up.

Their contract with NBC ends in 2006, so I think there'll be one more season after this one before time of death is called.

It certainly isn't what it was a few years ago (around the time that Green died). It seems like all the characters I really liked get written out of the show (Paraminder, Noah Wyle, nurse Hathaway, etc.) I am glad Romano got axed. ;)

Carter and Neela are still on the show. Noah Wyle is cutting down on his episodes because he wants to be a daddy and help with the kids. Don't forget that Neela's placement at U Mich didn't work out, so she'll be back at County this season.

I used to love ER but over the past 2 years or so I have just lost interest in it. I still watch one every once and a while but it isn't like the old ER.

I thought I read somewhere that Alex was not coming back but it was not mutual. She was not happy with their decision to cut her character

Speaking of ER my cousins fiancee will be in the opening scene of the first episode this season.

i wonder what will happen with Pratt and Chen. remember when they got shot at in the finale?? i hope it is nothing cheesy like the bullet missed them. that is what i call a false cliffhanger:mad:
it might have hit the guy that was in the backseat

I rarely watch ER anymore. I think that I have watched about six episodes in the years since Dr. Greene died.
