Your national org's magazine
Hey all,
If you are an alumnae of an NPC, NIC or NPHC group that sends out a regularly produced email, are you required at all to pay to get a hard copy in the mail, like a subscription? Can you opt out of the subscription and get an e-version for free via email? Thanks! Heather |
Our lifetime subscription to the Phoenix is included in our initiation fee. We cannot "opt out" of it. The magazine is not available online or through email.

AGD just implemented Alpha Gam, Etc. -- a new online newsletter in addition to our Quarterly. Recently, the most current copy of the Quarterly has been made available for viewing through our official website.
To my knowledge, the Pledge/Initiation fees we paid as pledges included a lifetime subscription to our Quarterly. I don't know why anyone would want to cancel her hard copy subscription since it's already been paid for, but to each her own, I suppose. |
I am almost 100 percent sure that The Sphinx comes with your annual dues. Go inactive, no magazine. (I think)

TO DRAGMA is a quarterly hard-copy. The lifetime subscription is included in your initiation fee. You can view it on-line via AOII's website, but it is not sent via e-mail.

The Delta is our national magazine. Subscription is for life and included in your initiation fee.

We get a lifetime subscription to the Lyre with our initiation fees. They are working on getting the Lyre online, but I've heard they're going to keep sending out hard copies because some people don't use the internet.

ETA: I think, though, and I don't know how this works, you can pay for a subscription for like $1.50. I've seen something to that effect in very small print on the inside of the front cover, but didn't know why that would be there, since pretty much everyone who reads it is a sister. Unless you want to send a subscription to your mom or something. |
LXA, Cross and Cresent, Life Time Subscription. Comes out every other Month!
I am sure most of you know, that these Magazines are vry costly. LXA has tried to do things to cut the cost down, but has met with resistance and changed back to a certain degree. But to me, the Magazines are the life blood of keeping Alums updated. The rub comes when Alums do not Keep Their Addresses and EMails updated. The cost runs very high. So, Hint: Keep Your Hdq. updated. Might sound trite, but, there are a lot out there who dont. Who does that cost? You and me and all of the Active Chapters and Alums in the long run. It is called $$$$$$$$$$!:( |
Alpha Epsilon Pi's "The Lion" comes out quarterly and is mailed to you. It is supported from our initiation dues I believe. We are also able to look at it online in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.

Delta Gamma's Anchora is mailed to members 4 times a year. It is a lifetime subscription, and it is paid for in New Member Dues.
|
The "Theta" magazine comes out quarterly and like some of the other organization is sent for life. I do believe we have the option to switch to semi-annual if we choose to, but I like getting it every quarter.

Phi Sig's "Sphinx" comes out twice a year (i believe) and is a lifetime subscription which is paid by your Initiation fees.
