CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- The state of Illinois sued the Dave Matthews Band on Tuesday for allegedly dumping up to 800 pounds of liquid human waste from a bus into the Chicago River, dousing a tour boat filled with passengers.

Ewwwwww. Although I'm sure there is already several pounds of human waste in the river,lol.

First his band starts to suck and now he shat on people. Great.

No but really I have 1 major question, how in the hell do you create 800 pounds of human waste?

Seriously, that's what I was thinking too. Unless that's the only bathroom out of ALL the crews' buses, WTF? I'm not an expert on this stuff, but I doubt there's even storage for 800 pounds of isht!

That bus must have stunk to have that much human wastes.

not to mention totally dragging down gas mileage with that much extra weight!

Wow I can't imagine that a bus would hold much "waste".

I don't see how this is the band's fault unless they actually said "oh just dump that crap in the river".
The bus driver and the bus company should be sued.

OK quick calculation here.

Let's say the average person loses 1 pound a day from poo and pee pee.

Let's say he's got 20 people on that bus.

Let's also say that the bus has to carry some other liquids like that blue stuff you flush with and whatnot that weighs 200 pounds.

600 pound of pure poo and pee pee/20 pounds unloaded every day = 30 days of poo storage.

Do buses travel for a whole month with that stuff in them? If they do this every week (4 times as frequently), then that would mean that each person loses 4 pounds a day in human waste.

Maybe if I hadn't just taken two of my "woo hoo" antihistimines I wouldn't be laughing so hard, but this thread is cracking me up! I am especially amused by Rudey's poo word problem.

If people are willing to bid on eBay for Britney's and Christina's chewed gum, imagine how much Dave Matthews' poo is worth?!?!?!

According to local news reports, there's videotape surveliance from one of the buildings near the bridge that have DMB bus going over the bridge at the time of the dumping.

As for liability,maybe DMB should scale back on their fiber intake. It's not like the poop fairy crowned their septic tank on purpose.

I suppose they were on their way to a rally to condemn George Bush for harming the enviroment.

"The state of Illinois filed suit against the Dave Matthews Band and Wohl on Tuesday, alleging that they violated state water pollution and public nuisance laws. The suit seeks $70,000 in civil penalties.
Jerry Fitzpatrick, the driver initially accused of dumping the waste, told the Tribune that "the band is very environmentally conscious. We wouldn't want to have anything to do with this sort of thing."

A large tour bus or RV may have a holding tank capable of holding 800 pounds. If water weighs 62 lbs. per cubic foot, that's only 13 gal.

62 pounds per cubic foot? What kind of water do you have out your way? A piece of lead may have that weight maybe. Perhaps you're missing a decimel point?
