Breast Cancer Awareness is Sticky!

Not sure if you've heard of this, but 3M Corporation (they
make Post It's) is building the World's Largest Pink Ribbon;
in Times Square for breast cancer awareness month in
October. For every person who clicks on this link and signs
up, Post-It will donate $1 to breast cancer research and
place a Post-It in their name on the billboard. Please sign
up and pass along!

That's such a great thing. Thanks for posting it. :). I just found out last night that my best friend has a lump. Thank G-D it's benign. She's getting it removed in September, but of course we're all freaking out about it.

I forwarded it. I can just imagine all the post-its flying off if they're making this out of post-it notes though.

Not quite as eye-catching as the huge pink ribbon, but a good way to support mammograms for women who cannot afford them is to click here. You can click once a day, and they'll even email you a daily reminder to do so!

On August 24th alone, enough people clicked on the site to fund 4 mammograms. That may not seem like a lot to you, but that's thousands of dollars in medical terms!

No problem-
a friend sent it to me and I thought it was incredible.
Besides Diabetes research I also like to support Breast cancer research and St. Judes... so this was a perfect way for me!

Thank you! I also click for the Animal Rescue League, the Children's Fund, the Rainforest, the Hungry, and to donate Bibles. I feel so blessed to have a computer, I just feel it's my way of "paying" for it - I guess Albert Schweitzer's "Service to others is the rent you pay for the space you occupy on earth," was really pounded into my brain early!

I think it's wonderful that you posted this link!!

I got this email from a co-worker yesterday, also regarding breast cancer...

Subject: Pink & White M & M's ~

These special bags of M & Ms will be on sale in September, October and November, 2004. (The bags are clearly marked.)

Hi Everyone, I would appreciate if you would send this to everyone you know and get the word out there, so we can beat this thing. There are many women out there who have Breast cancer. Let's do all we can to support this cause. New Pink & White M&M's. The makers of M&M candies have teamed up with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to raise funds through the sale of their new pink & white M & M's.

For each 8-ounce bag of the special candies sold, the makers of M&M (Masterfoods) will donate 50 cents to the foundation.

Please just take care of yourselves ladies. It's very important to make sure that regardless of how old you are, you've never too young to get breast cancer. Seeing a young woman not yet 21 have both breasts removed b/c of cancer is extremely difficult. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do regular monthly checkups of your breasts. No jokes about this either to the peanut gallery. It's a serious issue with nothing funny about it.

and it's not all that hard to do...

I found the cutest reminders at CVS! They're laminated, so you can hang them in the shower, and also have a punch-out hole for each month, to remind you! How cool is that?

I've also been saving my Pink Dannon Yogurt lids, which can be sent in until December and are worth 10¢ each when you do send them in to Dannon. I love how more and more people are getting on the bandwagon!

Everytime I hear someone moaning about how much a mammogram "hurts", I always say that they have to hurt less than cancer!
