Phi Mu at Virginia Tech?

Hello Ladies-

Sorry to crash your board, but I have a couple of questions about the chapter that used to be at Virginia Tech. When I first enrolled in Fall of 1999 I saw a Phi Mu sticker on a car, but I never saw it again after that. I figured it must have been a graduating senior or maybe someone decided to transfer. I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on that chapter (I think it was Gamma Pi, but I'm not 100% on that). I'd especially like to know when it closed because I was there from 1999 to 2003 and as far as I can tell Phi Mu never had any kind of recruitment. If there is anyone with any information or if you are a Phi Mu Hokie I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks!

Thanks for the information pinkyphimu! I've always wondered about that and now I don't have to anymore! And that's definitely an interesting piece of info about helping to start the chapter of panhel! I had no idea!

Sorry to crash as well on here.. but I am a Pi Phi alum from VT.

I was in the same class at VT :) . I pledged Pi Phi in Spring 2000 (our freshman year) and this was the last recruitment that Phi Mu participated in.

I remember meeting them at open house and they were a very small chapter at the time (30 or so compared to 100). Not long after recruitment they closed. Alpha Chi Omega had just come to VT the year before and this hurt them even more. I believe that they are set to come back in four or so more years after AGD I believe.

I went to VCU, and we had a girl whose biological sister had been a Phi Mu at Tech.

The girls at Tech had a very strong sisterhood, but unfortunately, the numbers just weren't there.
